Actually history of varanasi are not confirmed but according to Hindu methodology it was founded by lord Shiva. During the fight between Shiva and Brahma . Then Varanasi is the top oldest city in world. So it is also called shiva Nagari ,thousand of shiva temple siturated here. Firstly lord Shiva pronounced the name Kashi but in the present time It is called Varanasi. Varanasi name is the combination of two names, Varuna and Assi .
